Patton Premier Labradors raises AKC-registered English Labradors from champion bloodlines, OFA health-tested, home-raised, and ready to become part of your family. We're just minutes from Huntersville.
Huntersville has grown into one of the most family-oriented communities in the greater Charlotte area, and English Labradors fit right in. Whether you're in a neighborhood near Birkdale, overlooking Lake Norman, or settled into a quiet subdivision off Gilead Road, an English Lab is one of the most adaptable, gentle, and loyal companions you can add to your home.
At Patton Premier Labradors, we are English Labrador specialists. Every breeding decision we make is driven by three things: health, temperament, and conformation. We do not produce high volumes of puppies. We produce a small number of carefully planned litters each year, and we stand behind every dog we place.
Our kennel is located in Charlotte, NC, and we welcome families from Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, and the entire Lake Norman corridor to come visit, ask questions, and get to know us before committing to a puppy.
English Labradors, also called the "bench" type, are a distinct style of Labrador Retriever bred for calm temperament, classic conformation, and family suitability. If you've ever petted a Labrador and been struck by how heavy, blocky, and easy-going they were, you've likely met an English Lab.
English Labs are notably calmer than their American field-line counterparts. Lower energy, more content to settle at your feet, and highly adaptable to family schedules, including young children, seniors, and everyone in between.
The English type has a wider skull, thicker muzzle, shorter legs, and a heavier build, the "teddy bear" look that most families picture when they imagine a Labrador. Our dogs have classic English conformation with proper otter tails and dense, water-resistant coats.
Labradors consistently rank among the most trainable dogs in the world. English Labs specifically are eager to please, food-motivated, and responsive, making basic obedience, crate training, and house manners very achievable even for first-time dog owners.
Before a single puppy is born, we have done the work to ensure healthy, well-tempered offspring. Here's what that looks like.
Every breeding dog is OFA tested for hips, elbows, eyes, and heart before breeding. No exceptions. Clearances are documented and available.
All puppies are AKC registered with documented pedigrees. We do not sell unregistered Labs or misrepresent a dog's lineage.
We select sires and dams for conformation, temperament, and health, not just appearance. Our lines trace to titled, proven dogs.
Puppies are whelped and raised in our home, not in a kennel building. They are socialized with children, household sounds, and daily life from week one.
